cutting in line

Today I went to McDonald’s to get coffee. I’ve recently been enjoying their Peppermint Mochas, and since it’s 28 degrees here, a steaming cup of chocolately, minty goodness was something I couldn’t resist.

I was on the phone as I waited in line, and since I usually don’t like to be rude to the people working the register, I wasn’t all that aggressive about my position in line.

But then a guy tried to cut.

You know the way: he slipped over to the side, and stood at the counter in front of one of the closed registers. As soon as the people in front of me got their food and left, he whispered to the employee, “I’ll have a number 3 with a coffee.”

No, no, no, no, no.

I did what I had to, called him out for being a big, stupid line-cutter and took care of business.

Of course, the Mocha-making contraption was broken so I had to stick to regular coffee. Karma?
